Waking up in Gondar

Throughout the wee hours of the early morning we drift in an out of sleep through the monotonous drone of chanting over very poor quality loud speakers. When daylight finally breaks, feeling somewhat rested, we venture out onto the cobble stone streets of Gondar. It is market day, people are bringing in roosters, vegetables, sheep, and various other goods for sale. Some folks are making injera, some playing foos ball, some just greeting the day.

Great photos Nancy. Now that Lori has shared the link I will follow along. Please tell me you are on your way too Lalibela??? Take the plane back to Addis...it is a great view from the air.

If you need a driver/guide in Addis please call my friend Ketema Mulugeta 011251911655187. Tell him I sent you. Roberta Galbraith ( manns)

Roberta, a wonderful surprise to hear from you! Yes, Lalibela too. We flew back to Addis but had to leave at a terrible hour for Kenya. We are volunteering here for a few weeks.

We are posting when Internet capacity and electricity allow. Pretty sporadic I'm afraid.

We fell in love with the people of Ethiopia. I have a greater appreciation for your love and passion too. Till later, Nancy
